PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focus adjusting device for optical equipment which facilitates focus adjustment by making it easy to adjust a lens position when the camera is assembled, the camera which incorporates the adjusting device, and a camera manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The camera 10 has a lens frame unit 14 which holds a lens, a focus ring 16 which is provided abutting against the subject side of the lens frame unit 14 and varies in optical-axis directional thickness in the circumferential direction, and a main frame 20 which supports the focus ring 16. When components are assembled to manufacture this camera 10, the focus ring 16 is provided rotatably on the lens optical axis. The focus ring 16 is supported by the main frame 20, so the lens frame unit 14 moves to and away from a film surface F through the rotation of the focus ring 16. Consequently, the distance between the film surface F and the lens is adjusted to put the shift of the lens focus position from the film surface within a permissible range.
