PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and reliably join members with each other by using an engagement pin. SOLUTION: In a method for joining chair members in which a first member 1 having a shaft hole 3 overlaps a second member 2 having an engagement hole 4 at a part corresponding to the shaft hole 3 by the engagement pin 5 comprising a base end 5a, a forward end part 3b and a fin 8, the engagement hole 4 having the diameter smaller than the outside diameter of the fin 8 is formed in the second member 2, the shaft hole 3 having the diameter larger than the inside diameter of the engagement hole 4 is formed in the first member 1, the forward end part 3b is press-fitted into the shaft hole 3 until the base end 5a of the fin 8 is brought into contact with the first member 1, the engagement pin 5 is fixed to the first member 1, and the forward end part 3b of the engagement pin 5 fixed to the first member 1 is press-fitted in the engagement hole 4 to join the first member 1 with the second member 2.
