PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an output, namely, a discharge ability at a reasonable value when a rotational speed or a standard discharge pressure of a revolving scroll is excessive in a scroll fluid machine. SOLUTION: In the scroll fluid machine, thin security protection plates 10 and 11 with sizes and shapes corresponding to a spiral groove are provided in a bottom face of the spiral groove in at least one of a stationary scroll 2 or the revolving scroll 6 facing each other. When the scroll fluid machine is operated at a speed of a standard rotational speed or more or at a pressure of the standard discharge pressure or more, by removing or cutting one parts of the airtightness retainers 10 and 11 throughout required areas, tips of laps of facing scrolls are prevented from slidably contacting the airtightness retainers 10 and 11 in the removed or cut areas.
