PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound-absorbing latch mechanism capable of greatly lessening impact sound, when a latch is restored in the case a dial lock is unlocked, and at the same time, expecting the stability of operation extending over a long period. SOLUTION: A buffer piece 26 is combined with the head of the latch 6 being stored in a latch storing slit 2 of a holer 1, led and energized in the direction for the head to project outside of the holder and in the direction pivoted in the front by elasticity of a latch spring 9 to mold an overall form of the latch 6 in the shape of a sickle with the end of an edge turned backward, and at the same time, the edge of the outside end of the buffer piece 26 is formed in the shape of a circular-arc.
