PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continue correct vehicle control even when programs partly have abnormality. SOLUTION: In a common rail type fuel injection device for a diesel engine, this ECU 20 decides the optimum fuel injection quantity and injection timing based on engine operation information such as engine rotation number and accelerator opening, and a control signal corresponding to that is outputted to an injector 11. The ECU 20 determines a target value of injection pressure based on the engine rotation number and the fuel injection quantity each time to control the injection pressure to set a real common rail pressure at the target value. For each sort of the program in the ECU 20, operation programs related to driver command recognition, injection quantity operation, injection pressure control, and injection timing control are multiplied into plural lines as important programs to directly provide effects to engine action. In this case, the ECU 20 determines if abnormality exists or not at a specified time period for each of the multiplied programs, and selectively executes the program on the normal side in accordance with result of determination of abnormality. |
