PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost ferritic stainless steel which has satisfactory soft magnetic properties after working and annealing without affecting on defects such as the increase of the purity of the steel, the formation of an αphase into the single one and the coarsening of crystal grains, and a production method therefor. SOLUTION: The electromagnetic stainless steel has a composition containing, by mass, 0.003 to 0.07% C, 0.05 to 1.0% Si, 0.05 to 1.0% Mn, 0.01 to 0.04% P, 0.0005 to 0.01% S, 10.5 to 13.5% Cr, 0.003 to 0.03% N, 0.015 to 0.09% Al, 0.015 to 0.2% V and <0.005% O, and the balance iron with inevitable impurities. The relation among the contents of Cr, Al and P satisfies Cr/Al<=500, and Al/P>=1. As a deoxidation element, Al is used in place of Si and Ti. |
