PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a reading operation. SOLUTION: When lights are emitted from an illuminating light source 1, the emitted lights are radially diffused from a lens 2, and reach a specular surface 4. Then, emitted lights 110 and 114 which reach the specular surface 4 are mirror-reflected on the surface of the specular surface 4, and reach a diffuse reflector 9 as mirror reflected lights 111, and diffused and reflected. The diffused reflected lights 112 being a part of the mirror reflected lights 111 obtained when the mirror reflected lights 111 are diffused and reflected reach the specular surface 4 again, and mirror-reflected on the specular surface 4 again, and turned into diffused mirror-reflected lights 113. The traveling direction of the diffused mirror-reflected lights 113 is changed to a lens 6 of a mirror cylinder 7 by a plane reflector 5, and image-formed through the lens 6 by an image sensor 8, and converted into an electric signal. Thus, it is possible to allow one bar code reader to read a bar code formed on any surface, and to simplify the reading operation. |
