PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single phase power converter in which a reactor connected in series with an AC commercial power supply and a capacitor connected in parallel therewith can be linked with a system individually. SOLUTION: The single phase power converter comprising a single phase bridge circuit formed of switching elements having a reversely conducting function is connected, on the DC side thereof, with a DC power supply and, on the AC side thereof, with an AC commercial power supply which is connected in series with a reactor and in parallel with a capacitor. During a positive half cycle of an output voltage command value of the single phase power converter, the switch element of a first arm is subjected to PWM control and the switch elements of a second arm connected to the negative side of the DC power supply are turned on continuously. During a negative half cycle of a voltage command value to be linked with the system, the switch element of the first arm is subjected to PWM control and the switch elements of the second arm connected to the positive side of the DC power supply are turned on continuously. |
