PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acidic yellow dye having both excellent light stability and wet fastness. SOLUTION: A pyridonetrisazo based dye in the form of a free acid is represented by formula (1) (wherein R is hydrogen atom or a 1-6C alkyl group; X is a hydrogen atom, an aminocarbonyl group, a sulfomethyl group or a sulfo group; Y is hydrogen atom, a 1-2C alkyl group, a trifluoromethyl group, chlorine atom or nitro group; and m is an integer of 0-2, provided that at least one sulfonic group or one sulfomethyl group exists in the dye).
