PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed lead-acid battery wherein cost reduction in battery manufacturing and stable cell characteristics are realized. SOLUTION: In a granular type sealed lead-acid battery wherein filling of granular silica and injection of sulfuric acid are carried out at the same time, by injecting a solution obtained by dispersing the granular silica in diluted sulfuric acid from the upper face solution injection port of the battery, and excessive diluted sulfuric acid in the battery is made to be discharged from a discharge port on the other side, the filling density of the granular silica is set 0.18 to 0.30 g/cc.
