PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for producing supply voltage controlling an electronic switch, wherein remaining voltage between the terminals of the switch when the switch is conducting is utilized. SOLUTION: Direct-current voltage for controlling the electronic switch, such as a triac, is obtained from residual voltage between the terminals of the switch when the switch is conducting. Electric power required to produce auxiliary supply voltage is taken from the terminals of the electronic switch while the switch is conducting. The residual voltage is rectified and stepped up, for example, using a regulated switch-mode power circuit as a rectifier/ voltage step-up system.
