PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a focus in the peripheral area of a screen by offsetting a distorted magnetic field in the rear of a deflection yoke. SOLUTION: The rear end of a saddle type horizontal deflection coil composing a deflection yoke 16 takes the shape of a flat bent part 17B', and a magnetic field compensating means 23 for compensating distortion is provided in the rear of the flat bent part 17B' of the horizontal deflection coil 17 so as to offset magnetic flux leaked from the flat bent shape.
