PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a marking line indicator for a video type extensometer capable of attaching a marking line to a test piece accurately and easily, and suppressing the effect of distortion of the test piece to a minimum. SOLUTION: A marking line indicator 1 includes two clips 2 for supporting a test piece in the length direction of the test piece S from above and below, and a clip supporting member 3 for supporting the clips 2 movably in the length direction. The clip 2 has a marking line M extending orthogonally to the length direction of the test piece S. The clip supporting member 3 includes a constant length part 3a for regulating an initial supporting interval between the clips 2 to be the same dimension as a test length, and a clip movement guiding parts 3b, 3d for allowing movement of the clips 2 formed on an upper end of the constant length part 3a.
