PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent aqueous coating composition for the inner surfaces of cans which shows excellent processibility and chemical resistance and allows no elusion of bisphenol A. SOLUTION: The aqueous coating composition is prepared by neutralizing an acrylic modified polyester resin (C), obtained by graft polymerizing a polymerizable unsaturated vinyl monomer (B) containing a carboxyl group- containing polymerizable unsaturated monomer to a polyester resin (A) containing an ethylenic double bond with a hydroxyl value of from 10 to 120 mg KOH/g, and dispersing this resin in an aqueous medium. Here, the composition contains from 1 to 40 pts.wt. resol type phenol resin crosslinking agent (D) based on 100 pts.wt. acrylic modified polyester resin (C). |
