A fluid displacement pump (180) includes a rigid hollow body (186) having a first open end (188), a flexible partition (194) disposed within the hollow body (186) adjacent the first open end (188) to create a variable volume fluid chamber (196) between the partition (194) and the hollow body (186), and an actuator (202) acting upon the flexible partition (194). A movable piston including a shaft (200) connected to the actuator (202) and a head (198) connected to the partition (194) may be disposed within the hollow body (186). The fluid displacement pump (180) can be incorporated into a number of designs to perform different functions, including a nursing pump, cutting mechanism, and rotational movement generator. |
