The inventive storage device comprises, more particularly, a mandrel (2) and a rod element (1). The mandrel is disposed on a base plate (3) essentially at a right angle thereto. A stack of individual substantially circular disk-shaped elements, such as CDs for example, is stored by placing said stack with holes provided in the disk-shaped elements on top of the mandrel and the rod element. When an upper section of the stack is removed therefrom, it is raised together with the rod element, whereupon the rod element is separated from the mandrel and the upper stack element is maintained coaxially on the rod element.
