METHOD FOR MANIPULATING AND TREATING CARDS IN A LINEAR MACHINE

The invention relates to a method for manipulating cards comprising the following steps, consisting in: (a) supplying the linear transport device by means of the distribution device (36) with a card to be treated (52) at each step of linear displacement; (b) successively placing each card to be treated (52) in contact with a free treatment station as said cards move along step by step in front of the treatment stations (PP1 to PPn); (c) leaving a free space without any card to be treated on the linear displacement device after each series of n cards to be treated has been supplied; (d) using said free space between two consecutive series in order to recover the cards treated as said free space moves along under the treatment stations (PP1 to PPn); and (e) placing a new card to be treated (52) in contact with the treatment station that has just been freed by the preceding step and thereby creating a free space on the linear transport device in order to recover the card treated by the next treatment station.
