<p>The invention concerns a bearing housing (20) designed to support a mechanical transmission member comprising a ball bearing (12). It comprises a fixing base plate (22) and provides a support bore (26) for the ball bearing, substantially coaxial with the ball bearing, and a member (50) for clamping the bearing housing on the ball bearing. The bore consists of a single-piece clamping jaw (28) which comprises on its periphery a single opening site (A). The invention is useful for supporting transverse two-piece drive shafts of front-wheel drive motor vehicles.</p> |
