The plasma image screen has a carrier plate (2) provided with an addressing electrode array separated from a front plate (1) via a ribbed structure, dividing the space between them into separate gas-filled spaces. An electrode array with pairs of gas discharge electrodes lying on both sides of a gas discharge channel is applied to the front plate and covered by a transparent dielectric layer of constant thickness, the spacing of the discharge electrodes from the addressing electrodes varying in a direction transverse to the discharge channel direction.
