The optimisation method tunes the first heterodyne stage (M1) of a frequency processing circuit with 2 heterodyne stages either side of a band-pass filter (SAW) to the frequency providing the absolute minimum modulation error, the second heterodyne stage (M2) tuned to the frequency which provides the required nominal IF frequency.
