<p>A photon correlator comprises a plurality of sampling gates (11a to 11e) having different gate open times, a plurality of memories (12a to 12e) arranged to correspond to the sampling gates (11a to 11e) for accumulating data corresponding to the number of photons, and a calculation control block for reading out data from the memories (12a to 12e) and performing correlation calculation by software. Hardware mechanism of the sampling gates (11a to 11e) and the memories (12a to 12e) enables high-speed data write and real time read out. Simultaneously with this, the correlation calculation is performed. Accordingly, it is possible to rapidly calculate a particle size and a diffusion coefficient of particles in a fluid under various conditions.</p> |
