A hand lever (3) for the parking brake is locked continuously in various operating positions, by a locking lever (10), and devices on the lever, which act positively with an abutment (12). The free end of the locking lever is formed as a brake block (11). This acts with the abutment, consisting of a stationary braking surface, e.g. a drum segment, on a bearing block (2). The brake block has a friction or brake lining (13) on the side facing the abutment surface. The locking lever is segmented, and consists of a magnesium material.
