<p>A method and a plant for the separation of fat from proteins in a whey material to obtain a whey protein isolate (WPI) with a low fat content comprising the combination of a centrifugal separator and microfiltration (MF). The material fed to the separator contains the MF-retentate not passing through the microfilter. The combination improves the efficiency of the centrifugal separator and increases the yield of valuable WPI.</p> |
