The smoothing tool (10), for working plaster surfaces, has a carrier (12) with an edge around it and a bonded grid (14). The grid has at least two groups of intersecting struts (20,22), and a surrounding edge (18). The grid is at a gap from the carrier, leaving a space between their edges which is at right angles to the grid plane. The carrier and the grid have a disk shape, with a center coupling point (16) at the carrier to be attached to a rotary power tool.
