The present invention relates to methods of reducing sun-induced fade of the colour applied to fibres such as hair, especially human hair, by means of artificial colouring agents, especially oxidative colouring agents, and to compositions for the use in such methods; wherein the compositions comprise compounds such as n-propyl gallate.
