<p>The invention relates to a method for controlling a data transmission band used by a packet-switched service in a data transmission system in which the subscriber terminals are wireless terminals used by customers, which may move in the data transmission system, said data transmission system comprising one or more data transmission links having a limited data transmission capacity. In the method, on the basis of said location data, the data transmission link used by the terminal, the link's capacity and the band control technology responsible for said data transmission link are determined from the transmission topology of the data transmission system; quality parameters relating to the service of the customer are determined; on the basis of the information regarding the data transmission link, the service description and the customer data, a rule describing the control of the customer's packet-based communication over the aforesaid data transmission link is produced; and the customer's data transmission traffic over the aforesaid data transmission link is regulated by the aforesaid band control technology in the manner prescribed by the aforesaid rule in relation to other customers using the data transmission link subject to regulation.</p> |
