3-(2-(Acylamino)-ethanoylamino)-3-phenyl-propionic acid derivatives (I), and their stereoisomers, salts and solvates, are new. 3-(2-(Acylamino)-ethanoylamino)-3-phenyl-propionic acid derivatives of formula (I), and their stereoisomers, salts and solvates, are new: X = O or S; Y = NH, O or S; R1 = H, A, Ar, Het, halo, NO2, CN, OH, OA, NH2, NHA, NA2, COOH, CONH2, CONHA or CONA2; R2 = H, A, -(CH2)m-Ar, -(CH2)m-Het, -(CH2)m-cycloalkyl, -(CH2)m-CHA-Ar, -(CH2)m-CHA-Het or -(CH2)m-CHA-cycloalkyl; A = 1-8C alkyl or 2-8C alkenyl or alkadienyl; Het = mono- or binuclear aromatic heterocycle containing 1-4 N, O and/or S heteroatom(s) (optionally substituted by 1 or 2 of halo, A, OH, OA, SA, OCF3, COA, CN, COOA, COOH, CONH2, CONHA, CONA2, NH2, NHA, NA2 or NO2); m = 0 - 2; n = 1 - 4; and Ar = phenyl, naphthyl, anthranyl, fluorenyl, indenyl, anthracenyl or biphenylyl (all optionally substituted by one or more of halo, A, OH, OA, COA, CN, COOA, COOH, CONH2, CONHA, CONA2, CF3, OCF3 or NO2).
