DENSITY CONTROLLER FOR WET TYPE ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC PRINTER

PURPOSE: A density controller for a wet type electrophotographic printer is provided to control an ink density and picture density without an additional density sensor and picture density sensor. CONSTITUTION: A density controller for a wet type electrophotographic printer includes a sensor(171) for sensing an electric variation in a developing gap based on the quantity of toner developed onto a photosensitive medium(120), and a memory(175) for storing information about ink density and picture density. The density controller further includes a CPU(173) for receiving the information provided by the memory and information sensed by the sensor and comparing them to output an ink density and/or picture density control command, and a density controlling means(180) for controlling the ink density and/or picture density according to the control command. The sensor includes a resistor(R). A voltage value applied across the resistor varies with the quantity of toner and developing voltage in the developing gap. The sensor detects developing current caused by a difference between voltage values applied across the resistor to transmit the detected current to the CPU.
