A novel solvent cleaner for lacquer-soiled apparatus comprises (by wt. and adding up to 100 wt.%) (A) 20-65 (preferably 30-60)% glycol ether(s); (B) 9-40 (preferably 15-30)% aliphatic ketone(s) of formula R2-CO-R3 where R2 and R3 (same or different ) = 1-5C alkyl; (C) 10-35 (preferably 15-25)% 1-13C monohydric aliphatic alcohol(s); and (D) 5-20 (preferably 5-15)% N-substituted pyrrolidone and/or butyrolactone.
