Process for producing an expansion anchor having at its front end a cone (5) provided with a sliding coating for expanding a slotted spreading sleeve (6) and at its rear end a thread (2) for fixing an object to a component comprises brushing the surface of the cone with a steel brush before applying the sliding coating to produce a grooved structure (11) with parallel grooves.
