A structure, control method and so on of a master communication apparatus used in a radio LAN system wherein if a call is made through a single radio telephone line to the LAN by a telephone apparatus outside the network, it is once received by the master communication apparatus, while a slave communication apparatus can effect a radio telephone communication with the foregoing telephone apparatus via a host station without relay by the master communication apparatus, and wherein there is no need of any special processing such as authentication on the side of the host station. The master communication apparatus (1) normally keeps transceiver means (5) ON and effects a location registration for a base station on the basis of an ID assigned to the transceiver means, thereby providing a line usage condition that allows a radio telephone communication with a telephone apparatus outside the network. When there occurs a cause of a reception control transfer to one of the slave communication apparatuses (2) during a radio telephone communication with a telephone apparatus outside the network in the line usage condition, the master communication apparatus (1) causes the one slave communication apparatus, to which the control is to be transferred, to render its transceiver means ON on the basis of the ID of the radio telephone line.
