The blanket has an inner carrier layer (4) facing the printing cylinder, a micro-porous, compressible elastomeric, intermediate layer(3) and an outer printing layer (1). The inner carrier layer is in the form of a metal layer as a flexible metal sheet adaptable to the curvature of the printing cylinder and connected to the adjacent layer by an adhesive agent (5). The adjacent layer is a rubbery-elastic equalizing layer (6). The side surfaces (7) of the blanket have an elastomeric surface(8).
