A method for producing a ceramic structure, which comprises mixing a raw material for a ceramic, a foamed resin and optionally, a forming aid, formin g the resultant mixture, and then firing the formed article, to thereby provid e a porous ceramic structure. The method allows the production of a ceramic structure having a high porosity with the use of a reduced amount of a combustible powder.
