Semiconductor gamma-ray camera and medical imaging system

The nuclear imaging system includes an imaging detector close to a collimator. The imaging detector includes several detection modules, each with several elements in. The detections elements produce electrical pulses of amplitude indicative of a magnitude of radiation absorbed from photons of x-ray or gamma ray radiation. The pulses are conditioned so as to provide low noise amplification and shaping. The shaped pulses are processed so as to identify valid events using amplitude discrimination. A voltage representation of incident photon energy magnitude is stored. Valid event addresses are generated.
