The pipe coupling has a screw body (2) with an inner cone (9) and a cylindrical end section and a cooperating screw nut (5), provided with an inner cone which is angled in the opposite direction to the inner cone of the screw body. The end face of the deformable pipe (3) abuts a deformable plastics seal (4) inserted between the pipe end and an end stop provided by the screw body, which is moved in the opposite direction to the pipe upon axial compression by a given distance along the inner cone of the screw body.
