The carrier 13 of two sliding contact members 24 (and 51, Figs. 7 and 9, not shown) for selectively interconnecting adjacent ones of fixed contacts, such as 21, 22, 23, has a groove (11, Fig. 2, not shown) extending in the direction of movement to pass over an indicator lamp 14 arranged parallel thereto on the base 15. The switch may be a slide switch as in Figs. 1 to 10 of Specification 925,257, the carrier 13 being of translucent material, or opaque with a hole (27, Fig. 3, not shown) for a translucent lens (28) or with openings (31, 32, Fig. 4, not shown) to allow light to pass to translucent covers (35, or 36, 37). Alternatively the carrier may have a chimney-like opening (38, Fig. 5, not shown) for co-operation with a tumbler operating lever as in Fig. 12 of Specification 925,257, the tumbler and/or support being translucent. |
