The cap (1) is used to protect a hypodermic needle. The needle cap is for use with a single use syringe, with an injection needle (4) fixed in the syringe head (2). It comprises an outer rigid plastics cap (5) made of hard elastic material with a soft elastic inner lining (6). The rigid cap consists of a transparent, translucent plastics material. The connection between the cap and head has a stop section. The tip of the needle only opens when the pressure inside the cap matches the outside pressure.
