The actuation means comprises a shell (10) that contains an actuation lever (12). The lever extends towards the outer surface of the door through the shell into a housing (14) that retains a bearing pin (16). The pin pivotally supports the lever. The lever has two legs (18,20) and a connecting part. The legs have apertures through which the bearing pin extends. The cable mechanism cable (26) is hinged to the leg (18). A U-shaped component (28) is connected to the cable and hinged to one leg. A linear air damper (30) is hinged to the shell and includes a piston (32) with a ring seal (34). The damper piston rod (38) is hinged to the leg (20). The lever restoring spring (42) is seated on the piton rod.
