PURPOSE: A backward synchromesh mechanism of a manual transmission is provided to reduce manufacturing cost of a rear cover and a backward cone combined to make forward inertia zero in going backward, to improve assembly efficiency, and to prevent shock and noise. CONSTITUTION: A backward synchromesh mechanism of a manual transmission having a backward cone(30) inserted into a backward sleeve(6) to make a forward inertia zero in going backward is composed of an insertion groove(32) formed at the backward cone, a buffer member attached to the inside of the insertion groove, and an insertion projection(42) formed at a rear cover(40) and inserted into the insertion groove to fix the backward cone.
