PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dishwasher which ejects water to wash dishes held in a dish rack and an upper rack, and to enhance the easy-to-use of the dishwasher by enabling to easily take out the dishes held in the rack, whether the dishwasher body faces to the right or left direction. SOLUTION: A washing tub 1 having an opening 2 in its front is provided inside a dishwasher body 24 and the dish rack 19 for holding dishes 5 is disposed inside the washing tub 1. The dish rack 19 is formed of a plurality of integral stages, with the upper rack 21 journaled to its rack body 20. The dish rack can be pulled forward out of the opening 2 and the upper rack 21 can be folded toward the back of the rack body 20.
