PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a casting method which can prevent a shrinkage hole, etc., generat ed in the obtained cast product caused by the shrinkage accompanied with the solidifica tion of molten metal filled up in a cavity when the casting is performed by using a forming mold having a feeder head part formed as smaller as possible between a molten metal pouring hole and a cavity having complicated shape. SOLUTION: When the cast product having a desired shape is cast while reducing oxide film formed on the surface of the molten metal by allowing the molten metal poured into the cavity 18 in the forming mold 12 to bring into contact with a reducing compound, provided are as the forming mold 12, the feeder head part 16 formed between the molten metal pouring hole for pouring the molten metal and the cavity 18, and the cavity 18 forming a narrow part 18c having smaller cross sectional area than that of a space 18a on the way of coming to a space part 18b as the finish end part from a molten metal inlet of the cavity 18. When a gap with the shrinkage accompanied with the solidification of the molten metal filled up into the space part 18b by using the forming mold 12 formed with the feeder head part 16 and the narrow part 18c having higher heat-insulation than that of the space part 18b is formed, a part of the molten meta filled up into the feeder head part 16 is peculiarly supplemented into the space part 18b through the narrow part 18c.
