METHOD FOR PRODUCING PRENYL ACLOHOL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing prenyl alcohol with a microorganism which inhibits a squalene synthesis enzyme catalyzing a biosynthesis from farnesyl diphosphate to squalene. SOLUTION: This method for producing the prenyl alcohol is characterized by culturing a microorganism having a prenyl alcohol-producing ability in a culture medium containing a squalene synthesis enzyme inhibitor to produce and accumulate the prenyl alcohol on the inside and outside of the microbial cell and then collecting the prenyl alcohol.
