PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To observe a specimen part (tissue) by fixing the position of the part without damaging it. SOLUTION: The tip 6 of a probe 7 is made up of an optical frame 11, an optical unit 12 and an tip cover 13. The optical frame 11 is bonded to the tip of the tube 9, and the optical unit 12 and the end cover 13 which constitutes a transparent window member are bonded to the optical frame 11. A fiber 3b extending from a four-terminal coupler is fixed in place between the base 15 of the optical unit 12 and a spacer 16 and the tip cover 13 is made from transparent polycarbonate. The space between the tip cover 13 and the optical unit 12 is filled with a transparent medium 25 which resembles polycarbonate.
