PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the wearing of disposable diapers. SOLUTION: The disposable diaper 1 comprises a cover member 2 which has a front girth part 6, a rear girth part 7 and a crotch part 8 and a liquid absorbable panel 3 positioned on the side of the internal surface of the cover member 2. The panel 3 is mounted on the cover member 2 through an elastic band 27 stretched being elongated in the direction of the girth on the side of the internal surfaces of the front and rear girth parts 6 and 7. At least a portion of a clearance between the internal surface of the cover member 2 and the elastic band 27 is closed with a sheet material 53 elongating inward or outward from the diaper 1.
