PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a multiphase emulsified composition having good storage stability while containing a polyhydric alcohol in the innermost phase. SOLUTION: A polyhydric alcohol having >=3 hydroxyl groups, a lipophilic nonionic surfactant having a hydroxyl group in a hydrophilic moiety and oil are mixed, gel is formed without substantially incorporating water, a di- and a monohydric alcohols and the gel is dispersed in an oil phase component to obtain an emulsified composition which becomes an inner phase. This emulsified composition is then dispersed in an aqueous solution of a hydrophilic surfactant to prepare the objective multiphase emulsified composition.
