The sound-absorbing plate (1) is light with at least one fibre material layer and/or a foam material layer of air-permeable structure. It can also be a multi-layer light plate with a fibre material layer or foam material layer with an air-permeable structure and a single or both-sided cover layer of air-permeable bound wood wool. The metal grid (4) is step-proof, and the plate is used as base layer for a railway tunnel, preferably for laying in the area between the rails (10), next to the rails and/or between the sleepers (9).
