PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the wear of an abutting flange and to reduce the cost of a lubricating means in a slide roll for rolling a special shaped rolled stock with a rolling stand provided with a pair of grooved rolls whose calibers are divided with the abutting flanges on both sides. SOLUTION: A thrust bearing (AXU) which is attached to the extended journal part (ZVU) of a journal (ZU) of the slide roll (UKW) is provided. A cylinder pistion (ZK) which is movable in the axial direction in a cylinder case (ZG) and can be energized on two sides with a pressure medium is combined with the outer race (AR) of the thrust bearing (AXU). The cylinder piston (ZK) is combined with a displacement detector (WG) which is fit in the cylinder case (ZG).
