[Also in Division B5] An integral pneumatic tyre and wheel assembly comprises a wheel formed of laminations of fabric bonded with resin, a tyre body formed of at least one fabric ply embedded in elastomeric material and extending between the laminations of fabric in the rim of the wheel, and an elastomeric tyre tread material bonded on the radially outermost side of the tyre body. The fabric of the laminations may be made from glass, nylon, polyester, rayon, cotton and/or metallic fibres and the bonding resin may be an epoxy or phenolic resin. The fabric ply of the tyre body may be made of materials conventionally used for that purpose. An inflatable inner tube may be located within the tyre body.</p> |
