The enfolding or spine gluing device is part of a bookbinding machine. The material for enfolding or spine gluing is unrolled from a supply roll longitudinally by feed devices. The feed device (9,14,15,18) can supply the material from a longitudinal roll or a transverse roll as required. The feed device has printing rolls (4,5) and a cutting device (10) to produce strips of the enfolding and spine-gluing materials from the longitudinal roll, and similar devices to do the same from the transverse roll.
