PURPOSE:To provide a focus detector capable of changing the positions of detecting zones on a predetermined focal plane. CONSTITUTION:The focus detector is provided with an image reforming optical system reforming an image with luminous fluxes from the detecting zones 11, 12 and 13 set on the predetermined focal plane of a photographic lens, a line sensor 40a receiving/detecting the reformed image as light, an adjustable deflecting means making the luminous fluxes from the detecting zones 12 and 13 incident on the line sensor 40a by using at least two mirrors 21 and 22 and simultaneously, changing the positions of the detecting zones 12 and 13 on the predetermined focal plane 10 by moving at least one mirror 21 and a means detecting the focusing state of the photographic lens from the output of the line sensor 40a, as a characteristic. |
